Sooji is a South Korean composer and pianist based in London whose work explores instrumental timbre, gesture, and interdisciplinary performance across music, dance, and visual media. Her works have been performed internationally by ensembles including the Ligeti Quartet, Sejong Soloists, Britten Sinfonia, and the Royal Ballet, with performances at venues such as Kings Place, Carnegie Hall, and the Royal Opera House.
Her orchestral work, Song of Songs, was commissioned and premiered by the Millennium Symphony Orchestra at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul. Her chamber and ensemble works have also been broadcast on Korean national television.
She has collaborated with choreographers at the Royal Ballet and developed interdisciplinary projects integrating live performance, movement, and visual elements. Seol has received the Korea Government Scholarship (2024–present), First Prize at the Golden Classical Music Award International Competition (2021), and recognition in the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition and The Muse International Piano Competition.
She is currently pursuing a Master of Composition at the Royal College of Music in London, where she studies composition with Prof. Deirdre Gribbin, piano with Prof. Kathron Sturrock, and holds an RCM Scholarship
